Who runs this site
Project Distant Light is a project led by Lucas Young. For privacy questions or requests, use the contact form.
When you get in touch
The contact form sends your name, email address, selected subject and message to Lucas using Resend, our email delivery provider. We use these details to respond to your enquiry. We do not subscribe you to a mailing list or send automated marketing.
We handle enquiries on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact the project. We aim to delete enquiries within 12 months after the conversation ends, unless an ongoing relationship or a legal obligation requires us to retain them.
Preventing spam
Google reCAPTCHA helps protect the form from automated abuse. It loads when you interact with the form and may process device, browser and network information to assess whether a submission is legitimate. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms apply.
The server temporarily counts requests using a hashed network address to limit repeated submissions. These counters expire automatically. Hosting and email providers may also keep operational and security logs.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics is loaded only if you choose “Allow analytics”. It helps us understand aggregate site usage, such as page visits and device categories. We do not send contact-form contents to Analytics. Your cookie preference is saved in this browser.
You can change your choice using “Cookie settings” in the footer. Choosing “No thanks” stops Analytics on the next page load and clears accessible Analytics cookies. This does not delete information already processed by Google. Audience statistics may still involve identifiers and network information; they are not a guarantee of anonymity.
Service providers and your choices
Google and Resend may process data internationally under their applicable safeguards. Read Resend’s privacy policy for information about its handling of data.
You can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, object to relevant processing, or withdraw analytics consent. You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
